Hank Locklin is one of country music’s greatest performers, having racked up worldwide sales in excess of 15 million records, charted 70 singles on the country chart (including six number ones) and appeared at the Grand Ole Opry for three years shy of half a century. He is acknowledged as both a performer and writer, with his compositions being recorded by the likes of Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Dean Martin, Dwight Yoakam and Roy Rogers. Add to this his lasting popularity in Europe and it is easy to see why Hank is so highly regarded. Please Help Me I’m Falling was his second album release, originally issued in 1960, and is considered his first release pursuing the so called Nashville Sound. Much of this is down to producer and guitarist Chet Atkins, who assembled the best musicians available for the sessions as well as the likes of The Jordaniares on backing vocals. The album also contained four Top Ten country hits in Send Me The Pillow That You Dream On, Livin’ Alone, It’s A Little More Like Heaven and the title track.
