This album is a compilation drawn from two early Andy Williams albums - Andy Williams Sings Steve Allen (his debut album release) and Andy Williams Singer Rodgers And Hammerstein. Issued in 1957 and 1958 respectively, they were released at a time Andy was still trying to establish his own musical style - electing to do an album of well known material, albeit from two completely different sources was a relatively safe way of putting Andy on the musical map. The ploy worked too, for thanks to a regular spot on Steve Allen's Tonight Show, Andy scored a number of major hits over the next four years.
