It was his sisters writing a letter to producer Jack Good demanding that he give their brother an audition that helped turn Michael Cox into something of a recording star. After successfully passing the audition and appearing on Boy Meets Girls Michael picked up a contract with Decca Records, one that was to last for two singles. He was then snapped up by maverick record producer Joe Meek who helped craft his early chart hits, including Angela Jones. Whilst subsequent singles failed to achieve quite the same impact, Michael ‘s abilities were never called into question. Bizarrely, he never released an album during his heyday, his skipping from one label to another perhaps the reason. Instead we have gathered together those early recordings to present some of his best known work.
