Another classic jazz pairing, this time with vibraphonist Milt Jackson joining forces with master guitarist Wes Montgomery. A long term admirer of Wes and his abilities, Milt had hankered after an opportunity of working and recording with Wes. Fortunately, the feeling was mutual, resulting in this 1962 release. Although a jazz album for all intents and purposes, there is a distinct blues feel running through proceedings, largely the result of Milt’s influence. Yet Wes was no slouch when it came to mixing the style of his playing either, as this seven track outing confirms. Mixing the tempos also marks this album out as a special release.
